Shockwave Therapy at Mullaloo Podiatry

Reduce Pain | Accelerate Recovery | Improve Mobility

If you’re struggling with stubborn foot pain that just won’t go away, shockwave therapy may be the solution you’ve been looking for. At Mullaloo Podiatry, we use the latest medical technology to help our community get back on their feet, pain-free.

What is Shockwave Therapy?

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy sound waves to stimulate healing in injured tissues. It increases blood flow, stimulates collagen production and speeds up the body’s natural repair process therefore reducing inflammation and pain.

It’s particularly effective for chronic conditions that haven’t responded well to other treatments.

Conditions We Treat with Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy can be an excellent option for:

  • Plantar fasciitis (heel pain)
  • Achilles tendinopathy or Achilles Tendonitis
  • Shin splints
  • Morton’s neuroma
  • Other soft tissue injuries that won’t settle with rest or traditional care

Benefits of Shockwave Therapy

  • Fast and effective – Many patients notice improvements after just 3–5 sessions.
  • Non-invasive – No needles, no surgery, and no downtime.

Safe – Backed by clinical research and widely used in sports medicine, no .

What to Expect During Treatment

Each treatment session lasts around 15 minutes. Ultrasound gel is placed on the area and a small handheld device is used to deliver the targeted shockwaves. The sensation can be described as an elastic band flicking the skin and it is very tolerable.

After treatment, you can return to normal daily activities straight away, though we may recommend avoiding heavy exercise for 24 hours.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Most patients require 3–6 sessions, depending on the condition and severity and clinical studies have shown that patients reported up to 90% improvement. Your podiatrist will create a personalised evidence-based treatment plan for you and your condition.

Is Shockwave Therapy Right for You?

Shockwave therapy is especially helpful if:

  • You’ve tried other treatments (like orthotics, stretching, or rest) without success

Shockwave therapy is not appropriate where there is:
